Yes the best way to lose weight is eating 5-6 small portion meals (30% less than a regular portion) of everyday healthy food, along with exercise, will burn calories faster and build your metabolism in a short period of time without dieting or counting calories.
You will lose an average of 2 lbs per week.
Meal suggestions:
piece of fruit
bowl of cereal (high fiber low sugar)
bowl of oatmeal
string cheese
summer sausage
cottage cheese/yogurt (lowfat)
tuna/turkey/ham/chicken breast sandwich (lettuce, tomatoe)
soup
salad
raw veggies
boiled eggs
popcorn
Always eat a good dinner (small portions)…fish/meat/poultry (bake, broil, grill) potatoes/pasta/rice, veggie…your body needs carbs, protein and vitamins to stay healthy…cooking with olive oil is best.
Avoid munchies, fried & fatty foods/fast-food
Low calorie sweets…sugarless candy, ginger snap cookies,
fig bars, 100% juice popsicles
Drink plenty of water (6-8 glasses per day)
Make water your #1 choice of beverage, best to keep at hand
Drink milk (low fat) and/or 100% juice/green tea/water with every meal
Avoid soda pop/flavored drinks
Never eat before going to bed
“Daily” simple and cardio exercise (20-30mins.) like walking/treadmill, hiking, running, biking, swimming, jumping rope, jumping jacks, dancing, aerobics or playing any games that uses a ball will shed pounds, tone your body and keep it fit.
Get outside in the sunshine everyday for 15-20 mins., your body will produce vitamin D to absorb calcium for strong bones and teeth and your brain releases endorphins to naturally lift your mood lowering stress, exercise also lowers stress, exercising in the sunshine would be ideal. Stress can cause many health problems, including tension headaches which release chemicals that cause blood vessel changes that can trigger migraines.
Food is fuel, energy for the body, if you don’t exercise to burn the energy, it turns to fat…fasting or skipping meals lowers your metabolism and forces the body to hold on to fat.
Losing weight at a healthy pace along with exercise you will feel and look so good.
go see your doctor and have a chat with him, sometimes ill health and weight gain can be related to other underlying issues, once he has given you the all clear with your health then I would decide on a good exercises pro gramme but do go and get a health check first

if your having headaches, pains, etc. You should def see a doctor. As far as losing weight, try to keep your daily calorie intake between 1500-1700. Dont eat anything after 8pm. Cut out any drinks you possibly can, coke, pepsi, tea. Convert to all water if you can. Please check with your doctor before working out. If he clears you to work out, the good news is you dont need a gym. Lifting weights, leg lifts, etc is actually going to make you gain weight(muscle weighs more than fat) Do cardio (jumping jacks, walk, jog, run) you can lift weights to lose the fat, but make sure your using VERY light weights when you do it. Also, alternate days. 1 day, run walk or jog, the next lift the light weights, next day run, walk, jog and so on. Dont give up, you wont see results right away.
Okay, lets address the issues. Feeling down or sad about being overweight is common, not only for someone your own age, but for people of all ages who are overweight. You are not alone in this, but you are the only one who can decide to make a difference for yourself. Once you’ve made that decision, you can do something about it. You can lose the extra weight. And guess what? You don’t need a gym membership to do it. Just the will and the knowledge. At 13, you are in a good position to start learning things now that will help you throughout your life.
Second, the headaches are probably tension headaches rather than migraines. They can be almost as bad, but they are different kinds of headaches. If you get these headaches when you think about something that annoys, aggravates, or irritates you, then they are tension. Migraines tend to come on with little in the way of a “trigger” and tend to be more at the front of the head around the temples or forehead area. And the good news, tension headaches can be dealt with much more easily than a migraine.
The secret to healthy weight loss is the same for everyone: diet and exercise. Just body building isn’t really going to do it particularly well. I would recommend starting out with cardio exercises and some basic toning exercises. Sit-ups/crunches, push-ups, back arches, deep knee bends for the toning; walking/jogging/running, cycling, swimming for the cardio. A good 1/2 hour plus a day of the cardio. Depending on your condition, you might not be able to do 30 minutes at a time, but you can work your way up to it. I started at a paltry 5-6 minutes a day 3 months ago and now regularly get 30+ minutes in a day.
But you don’t have to “work out” all the time. Anything that gets you moving burns calories. Getting outside and doing things like mowing the lawn burns calories. Shoveling snow burns a LOT of calories. Walking a dog burns calories. Cleaning your room burns calories. The key is to get moving and keep moving.
As for diet, here is where you can make the best decisions that can have long lasting repercussions in your life. A diet heavy on fruits and vegetables (preferably uncooked) will give you more and longer lasting energy. Avoid the refined sugars you find in a lot of foods, especially sodas, candy, and sweetened cereals. Drink 2% or lower milk. Eat healthy snacks like yogurt. Avoid fast foods. If you do eat at fast food places, eat a salad. I’m not a big salad lover myself, but some of these salads they have at BK and Mickey D’s are surprisingly good. Avoid stuff like chips. Keep “easy” fruits around to snack on: grapes, apples, stuff you can grab and eat without even having to bother peeling.
The hardest part is just getting started. But once you do get started and you start losing weight the healthy way (diet and exercise), you will find that you not only start to look better, but you begin feeling better. And it doesn’t take long for your body to recognize this. Since I’ve started exercising, I find that my body actually “tells” me to exercise because it feels so much better and more energetic afterwards.
Losing the weight won’t happen fast, but it will happen. You can do it. And don’t be afraid to research diet and exercise on the internet. Ten minutes or so a day can add a wealth of information, ideas, and inspriration; give you a chance to absorb the knowledge; and keep you motivated. And if you have a “bad” day where you just binge eat, don’t get discouraged. It happens. Just keep trying. The more you try, the more likely you are to be successful.
Good luck.
First rule: love yourself
second rule: love your parents
third rule: be happy with and for yourself
Sit down and understand that you are only 13.
Look at your parents and other relatives – are they also fat?
Write down a list of your food that you get to eat everyday.
Go see a doctor for a physical to see if you have any medical problems like thyroid etc…
Being fat when you are 13 it is still ok. So long as you know your kind of lifestyle and what you have been eating everyday.
With the list of food you intake everyday – write down the calories and cholestrol & fats and start counting. Make sure you are consuming what is required for your age and bmi. But before you want to go on a sort of diet, make sure you get a green light from the doctor first. Ask him/her what kind of food and exercise would be good for you. Then stick to the plan for a while and adjust according to your lifestyle.
If you notice that your parents and other family members are fat too, it could mean 2 things if you are medically fit. One could be the diet, that is the kind of breakfast, lunch, dinner and/or supper that your family share everyday. Two could be your genes.
Good luck and don’t go overboard with harsh exercise and crash diet – they may not be good for you in a long run. Keep it simple and enjoy your teenage life… there are plenty to experience… Stay happy and be true to yourself. Mostly love yourself. Balance in everything is the key.
ps: drinking lots of water is good but only if your diet is not of high salt or sodium – it make your body retain water. Perspire with exercise….
Green tea is good if it is sugar or aspartme (artificial sugar) free. Sugar will give you a lot of energy – use it, otherwise it will also add on to your weight.
no offence but you should see a phycyatrist before you see a dietrition.
If you start to eat better, you start to feel better.
Find 30 minits for exercise each day (even if its walking)
go for 2 fruit and 5 vegatables each day.
Keep saying your goal weight when your doing exercise. like “140,140,140!”
dont stress out about your weight, my guess is you get sad and eat more then someone looks at you and you get upset and eat more.
The more you gain the more you have to lose
good luck
1. Eating less will help a little, but eating healthy is much better, have more fruit and veg, less take away, and eat more green things and drink more water (The main key there is WATER, its shocking how much wieght you loose by drinking more)
2. Even if you have a healthy diet, you have to also exercise, even if you just get up and walk around the house, pace in your room or do push ups. it will all help.
Don’t worry, just stay strong and persistant, and you will get thinner.
(and find that special girl
Best of Luck
