Are My Settlement Payment Needs Reasonable?

I was hit by someone who ran a stop sign. The car was totaled and I’m going to the chiro.
This is what I’m asking for in my settlement amount. the amount my insurance has paid for chiro, the amount I’m paying and will pay for chiro treatments, (gladly would agree to send quartely exrays and reports so his insurance doesn’t think I’m trying to get free medical off him), the missed hours from work ( had to go from full time to part time hourly) Not sure If I can claim the money I spent traveling to the appointments since I would of spent the same money if I was communting to work.
I have the chiro payment records. I have a letter from my manager stating that he placed me as a part time because I was not able to work the hours he needed and he needed the hours to be able to hire a full time. (only from sept 07 – mar 08) I have a letter from my chiro stating he has me on a at home treatment and still sees me once a month to review my progress.
Any advice welcome. Thanks

It is a little too reasonable, actually. Your insurance company may have a lien against any money you collect for chiro services they paid for. So make sure you ask your lawyer about that and have him/her check your policy. If you get an award or settle a case based at least partly on this amount, you may have to pay back your carrier.
But you forgot to add an amount for pain and suffering, and loss of enjoyment of life. Very clearly, you no longer are living a life free of pain, you probably can’t do all the things you used to do before the accident, and you now have limitations. You probably will suffer loss of future earnings as well. I would suggest checking a jury verdict reporter for the jurisdiction you are in. See what juries have awarded to people who have suffered the same injuries as you, and that will provide a good benchmark from which you can formulate a base settlement demand before adding actual out of pocket costs and lost earnings.

I was awarded 80,000 for a broken neck at c1c5and c7 and four monhts in a halo while pregnant. So you should just ask for a large settlement. I don’t know if they can possibly do that with it being in the future. Ask your lawyer what the law states about future compensation without a lump sum.

More than reasonable!!! You also should be compensated for your “pain and suffering”…
