Heart surgery keeps advancing all the time and since he already went through it once he will have a good idea what to expect. He needs to quit smoking though, and cut down on stress (working long hours) so lifestyle changes are needed. His chances are very good. If the second bypass operation is technically feasible, his chances are actually not so bad; but he needs to stop smoking NOW, since his coronaries only get blocked again if he keeps on smoking, the drugs we prescribe cannot negate these negative effects of smoking, so we all stand to loose, if he has anginal complains again a second re-bypass operation often is not feasible.
