Bangkok is exotic, Hongkong is a shopper’s paradise. Although Thailand has its own low-cost buyers area if you have time to really dig in.
I hope you won’t mind if I become biase, or something. I’m from the Philippines…why not try visiting our country. Just don’t go where you are not suppose to be, like some parts in Mindanao. Your government will give you an advisory where and where not to go in the Philippines.
I think Hongkong is better if you like shopping. But if you like historical places, palaces, temples, floating markets, Bangkok is better. For me, I like Bangkok. Bangkok is a city of contradictions: A buzzing metropolis with a laid back attitude, elegant temples and palaces stand side by side with Romanesque concrete skyscrapers and charming wooden houses. And while the main thoroughfares are choked with traffic and fumes, nearby side roads contain tranquil houses nestled among lush gardens. Love it and hate it, you can’t ignore or forget it.
heHeh im from neither of the places, so cant tell you much about them. but i have been to bangkok, and seen quite alot on tv about hk.
thai is a very exotic place – as to bangkok the city itself, its just another busy and polluted and congested city like any other big city. but you will notice that there are many temples around. and it has the special tricycle thing for tourist to ride on. a very interesting place.
hk – go for its shopping and admire its tall buildings. everybody on the street is busy doing something. people walk extremely fast. it has some leisure theme parks too thats worth ago
actually, i was only going to tell you hongkong is not in south east asia. north east i think it is.

Well, since you say it was “South East Asia” then I think is not south east Asia, Thailand is. But still rather than Bangkok, I’d prefer Thailand.
But it’s your choice. If you’re a shopper then, Hongkong’s where you should go. But that doesn’t mean you can’t shop in Thailand too. If you like historical places and all, go to Thailand.
If u r a guy,i would suggest u to go bangkok.if lady than goes to hongkong..Y??? B coz bangkok got lots of beautiful girls n for hongkong…Got lots of accessories for ladies to buy…Bangkok is more dirty n hongkok is more clean n fashion
Travel with me then. This winter I will be going to Hong Kong, Manila and Singapore – in that order for 2 weeks! I can’t wait enough!
Been to both places. Both are excellent cities to travel in. It all depends on what you are looking for and budget.
Bangkok is cheaper in cost compared to Hong Kong.
Both offer great shopping and good food, and many places of interest.
Been to both places. But I will recommend Bangkok more than Hongkong.
In Bangkok, you get to do shopping (make sure your trip is towards the weekend so you can go and have a full day of shopping at their weekend market in Jatujak), sightsee (they have wonderful temples and beautiful architecture —pretty much unusual for a westerner) and nightlife.
Plus, it is cheaper than Hongkong.
Its depend on what are you planning to do? What do your prefers ??
If you like to shopping and you dont really mind the prices you should go to Hongkong. I never been there but heard many of them whos travelling there. Have less places to visit than Bangkok.
If you like historical places, like temples, and love cheap prices you should go to Bangkok.
Every places is uniques thats what i think.

I live in South East Asia and travel the region a lot. I prefer Kuala Lumpur and Ho Chi Minh City. Bangkok is big, crowded and expensive. Hong Kong’s even worse.
