I am a visitor in Canada, and was taken to the hospital last week as I had severe abdominal pain. I am much better now, but concerned about the costs, as my travel insurance just ran out! I live in England and was wondering if it’s possible to get a refund of all the expenses?

Probably not, but I don’t know.
Check with your National Health in England, and see what their rules are on this. If they don’t have provisions for their citizens overseas, then you are probably going to have to just pay it.
