I used to be a teacher and had great medical insurance. Then I was laid-off due to state budget cuts and declining enrollment. Now my children have Medicaid and it’s a different world. My 11 month old has had ear infection after ear infection since February. They never really have cleared up. He’s been on 6 rounds of antibiotics. Amoxicillon, Zithromax, Augmentin, Omnicef, Omnicef again and a shot of some sort of cephalasphorin in his leg. Finally, they referred him to an ENT but NOBODY will take him near where I live because he is on Medicaid. I’m traveling 2 hours away and his appt. isn’t until the end of June. -All because of the Medicaid. It’s been a week since he’s had that last shot and I can tell it’s getting worse again. What the heck do I do next? I know if I had good health insurance he’d be in to see the ENT in 2-3 weeks. Is there anything I can do? Do I need to wait until he’s deaf before they’ll see him?

Sorry for your troubles..
Do you or does anyone around you smoke? This is a frequent cause of chronic ENT conditions in kids.
You need to seriously consider moving and getting a decent job. If you think Medicaid is bad for this complaint, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
And you are registered to vote Democratic, right?
I told my Daughter to melt some Neo-sporin
and put a couple of drops in my Grandson ear
it cleared up his ear infection ( stuff with cotton )
this should help until you get into ENT
im not sure if your asking about whats wrong with you baby or about insurance?
so imma just answer whats wrong with your baby..
haha,
my baby brother is two and he has had around 16 ear infections from the time he was born till he was 1 1/2.
he ended up getting tubes in his ears; so thats prolly what they’ll do to your baby..
i think you should probably get a different insurance or whatever. or go to the ER. they’ll look at him then.
also, its normal to have to wait that long.
its prolly not because of medicare.
my brother had to wait a few months before anybody could look at him too.
hope this helps
