I have to ask this for ok for the Ticket protector insurance, on the runway and non stop flight fares
But is it me or does the Ticket protector insurance only cover stuff like a medical condition, death of a family membory, terrorist stuf stopping the flight, BUT DOES IT COVER Declining to travel if your trip is delayed to where the trip is in vain, or if you miss your connection due to the short layover (I fear at that point there is no turning back as you made it to point one of the trip). IF that is all TIcket protector covers than its crap insurance
And what is the longest time possibly you can be stuck on the runway when there are other planes in front of that plane. Can it be hours? Can it be long enough so that the flight has to be cancelled (well the plane has to be somewhere else) and they end up boarding people off. I have had it where I am on the runway for 10-25 minutes and it gets annoying after a while. Which airports does that happen most?????
And how come the fares to flying to a place non stop Can BE HIGHER THAN IF YOU CONNECT FLIGHTS TO THAT PLACE, like how come connecting flights to some places can be cheaper than flying NON STOP?

The ticket protection does not cover a short connection or if you miss your flight for something other than an actual emergency. Yes, it is crap. The best thing to do is to just buy a refundable anytime ticket, and it allows you to cancel it anytime you want for a full refund. So if you are on a connecting flight, and you miss the second leg, then you can get your money back if you deisre, or be placed on the next flight without any hassle.
There is no set time as to how long you can be on the taxi way before your flight is canceled. It is all deteremined by if the flight crew will be illegal, how much fuel is on board, where the plane is going, and what type of airplane you are in. In JFK, it’s not unusual for planes to taxi for three to four hours before they take off. I’ve been on multiple planes where they’ve taxiied for so long that we had to go back to the gate for extra fuel! Huge airports like LHR, ORD, ATL, JFK, and EWR are some of the many airports that will have long taxi times.
Direct flights are more because it’s easier to do than a connecting flight. That’s the main reason. It’s like going to a gas station on your way home from work and saying “why is a bottle of Pepsi $2 more than it is at Wal-Mart?” Well it’s simpler to just buy it there than go out of your way to buy it cheaper. I guess that’s the easiest way I can answer that one!
Greyhound, Daniel – take Greyhound…….
The fares are based on competitive factors.
For example if one airline has the only nonstop flights from A to B those prices are likely to be high, but if no airline provides service from A to C and 6 different airlines offer connecting service; they will compete on price
So you have the scenario where You are going from A to connect thru B to fly to C.; they have to keep A-C fared down to remain competitive and A-B-C becomes cheaper than A-B. Weird isn’t it?
As for the insurance, read the policy you want to buy before you buy it. Some might cover it while others wont.
As for the laws about being stuck in the plane (and no it wont be on the runway, that’s dangerous); different countries are just beginning to pass laws about this, they vary too It is certainly longer than 25 minutes though
