I am in the USA and not familiar with the system in India that provides medical care for tourists to your country. Therefore, I can not give you a direct answer. I can only give general guidance. However, I would say you can get the answer you seek by contacting the insurance company that was providing coverage to the tourist at the time. I would say you need the detailed personal identifying information for the tourist so that the insurance company can verify that the tourist was covered at the time. And, of course you need to know how to contact the insurance company.
