So im going overseas this summer (my first time) from the U.S. and Im definitely going to get travelers insurance because I had a family member travel overseas recently and they got into a car accident and were hospitalized (overseas) and had to pay a lot of money for medical costs and the dr. had told them if they had travelers insurance it would have covered all of these costs! So i am planning to get travelers insurance (just in case). Is this true wat the Dr. said? and is it worth it? Plz help!thanksssss

it all depend on what country you’re going to i went to africa and i got insurance. definetly get for 3rd world countries but if you’re going to france or the uk you should be fine
Definitely worth it, because it’s so cheap. Before you buy though, if you currently have health insurance, check your policy. You may already be covered, though I doubt it. If you buy a policy, check to see if it covers things like jet ambulances, etc because if you’re in some country where hospitals are substandard, you’ll want to go somewhere with better care.
Go for the insurance because the cost is so small compared to the piece of mind that it will bring. Look for things like car rental excess cover that can be great if you have an accident. Always carry a pen with you because you’ll get forms to fill out on international flights. The pen and a small note book is handy at all times because the world is a small place and you never know who you’ll meet and swap info with
Absolutely – never go abroad without medical insurance, even within areas covered by the EHIC card (it doesn’t cover things like repatriation).
