Travel Insurance Help Needed Please?

I’m off on holiday on Sunday for 3 weeks. I’m trying to arrange travel insurance but I’m getting silly quotes for doing the right thing and declaring a “pre-existing medical condition.”
Can anyone recommend a good insurance company that will give me insurance for a “pre-existing condition” I can use? Thanks.

Try http://www.portwood.co.uk – when you get a quote you can call the various medical screening lines to get acceptance of terms – or call 01207 509446 and the staff can help you.

Go to http://www.thepolicyconnection, click on IMG under Travel Insurance. There are some good plans available you can order right there on-line. Like permanent and short-term insurance policies, pre-existing is always going to be a known risk insurers won’t take on. Pre-existing is only covered in group plans and that because it is the law. On the individual side, insurers don’t have to cover it. Premiums would be astronomical if they did. For the travel insurance they are described as follows: Pre-existing Conditions. A pre-existing condition is defined as any injury, illness, sickness, disease, or other physical, medical, mental or nervous condition, disorder or ailment that, with reasonable medical certainty, existed at the time of application or at any time during the three years prior to the effective date of the insurance, whether or not previously manifested or symptomatic, diagnosed, treated, or disclosed prior to the effective date, including any subsequent, chronic or recurring complications or consequences related thereto or arising therefrom.

My pre-exisitng medical condition is epilepsy. Given that you’ve not said what yours is, then I don’t know whether yours is the same as mine or not? So how do I know if I can help you or not without knowing what your pre-exisitng medical condition is? A bit of extra info wouldn’t go amiss y’know.

Unfortunately for you, it is improbable that anyone will insure a pre-existing condition. If they did, people would never pay for travel insurance in order to save the premium. Then, they would take out the policy if they got sick in order to avoid losing the cost of the trip.
It would be like writing a homeowners policy for a building that is already on fire or writing a life insurance policy for someone who already has a terminal illnesses.
I wish you luck, but I’ll be surprised if you find anything.

You didn’t mention your home country or to where you are traveling, but if you are a US citizen traveling outside the USA, there IS a plan that will cover pre-existing conditions for the first $20,000.00
It is called the Liaison plan and you can buy it online at http://www.WorldWideMedical.com, or calling 800.647.4589

The first thing that we would need to know is what type of travel insurance are you trying to get. Are you trying to get health insurance for while you are traveling? If this is the case then you can get some good quotes using http://www.wfcmarketing.com
This is a site that I used to obtain my health insurance from. You can usually purchase a short term medical insurance policy.

Do you currently have insurance at work? Surely they will cover you while you are on vacation.
If you are NOT insured now…….why bother?
You might try a short-term medical plan. They are typically written for 30/60/90 days and they do NOT cover any type of pre-existing condition. You can get these through Golden Rule Insurance Company. Just contact them for a local agent.
Good luck and I hope this helps!
