Travel Insurance In The Uk?

My partner was born in England and holds an English passport. He moved to New Zealand about 10 years ago.
We are going to England in May for a month, and was just wondering if we needed to get travel insurance for him whilst there? Or because he is English-born, is he automatically covered for medical etc, over there?
Thanks in advance!

The NHS would not turn your boyfriend away, but unless he is still registered with a GP here in the UK, he may well find that he gets billed for the services he receives. The NHS will only supply medical aid, if your boyfriend were to have any other form of problem whilst you were here (theft of belongings, accident needing medical aid to get home such as the air ambulance services) he would not be covered in anyway. For your own piece of mind you both need travel insurance to cover for all these, and other, possibilities.
