Hi all,
My parents (aged 62 and 63) are planning to travel to United States on a Visitor’s VISA for the first time. I bought the ticket for them but am stuck when asked to choose the Travel Insurance.
I went through a number of insurance companies to get a better travel insurance for my parents (the main thing i am looking at is to cover good Medical treatment, including I.P and O.P as well). I’m stuck now on what to choose.
Can someone who had earlier experience on the subject, please advise me on which travel insurance is proper for my parents? Also please do let me know how your answer (the insurance company) is better compared to others..
Thank you all in advance.. Everybody have a great day!!!!

I presume your parents don’t have private medical insurance at home? If they do, a US bolt on will be the cheapest.
Otherwise, I’ve had great luck with STA’s travel insurance. I have claimed on it and been paid out 100% with no fuss. I think they are the cheapest. Otherwise try the airline. Sometimes that is a good option. We had a visitor who used the BA travel insurance and I know they paid out.
Travel insurance only covers new, medical emergencies – not maintenance stuff, and not expected stuff, and not wellness stuff.
Your best bet is to buy it through the agent where you bought the travel tickets.
