Cut calories, walk or jog. I wouldn’t reccomend too much weight lifting, because it may add mass. I walk 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes and have thin arms and legs. The following website is a great way to tell how many calories you need. Good luck!http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/calorie…
Your right you do need to lose a little weight because your BMI (body mass index) is 24.0, which is right on the border of being overweight. So, first off you need to start with your diet. I know you hate salad but you need to start eating more fruit and vegetables. The popcorn chicken may be low calorie but in can be full of fat. Try eating a salad at least twice a week even though you don’t like it. You can put lean meats on it!
Now for you workout you should try to workout at least 3 times a week. To keep your body burning calories you need to do high intense workouts for a short period of time.
1.Run on the treadmill or outside until you need to catch your breath. Walk until you catch it and then start running again. Repeat until you have done this 12-15 minutes.
Another option to this cardio is jump roping. Jump rope for as long as you can until you need to catch your breath. Walk around or rest until you catch it. Do this for 10 minutes. Eventually you should be able to do both of these activities consisitiently for the whole time.
Strengh:
Pick 3 or 5 weight dumbells and do some of these exercises. About 8-12 reps; 2-3 sets. The exercises are at the bottom.http://realwomensfitness.com/upper-body-…
Toe-ups are really good for toning your calves. That’s where you go up and down on the balls of your toes. Try to do 30-50 of these.
Squats are good for your thighs. Do as many as you can of those.
Leg lifts are good for the legs. As many as you can do.
For your abs crunches and sit-ups are good. Around 30-80. Just depends on how many you can do.
I recommend stretching after your cardio because that’s when it’s easiest because your blood is flowing better. Make sure to stretch after you lift the weights so you don’t hurt your arms. If you have time the other days you should try to walk 15-30 minutes. After you lose fat off your body I suggest a class of pilates or a pilate video because there great for toning.
Remember to drink plenty of water and eat healthy!
Hope you get healthier and lose weight! Good luck!
The thing that you have to realize right away is that the ONLY way you are going to change your weight and body image is by changing the way you eat, and the amount of exercise you get. That’s it. And I’m not talking about going on a diet – it’s about eating healthy and making a commitment to not eating trashy foods.
If you really want to lose weight, you need to find some healthy meals that you enjoy and can see yourself eating long term. You need to give up the popcorn chicken and such (maybe grab it one day a week if you absolutely have to have it – make it a treat rather than a regular item). Try eating several smaller meals rather than any huge meals – try to never feel too full, just eat until you are satisfied. Take up an activity that gets you doing some exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. Also, drink lots of water – that’s a great and easy way to up your metabolism.
It’s really not such a huge life decision, and if you can get into a routine and keep it, you’ll be all set. If you can’t keep with it, go to a gym and get a personal trainer, and tell them you have a problem sticking to your plan. They’re experts at situations like that.
You’ll soon look like you want, and also feel much better! It might sound intimidating, but you’ll be surprised at how much you begin to enjoy these things.
