What Is The Emergency Number In India?

I know it’s 999 in the UK and 911 in the States but what is it in India? to call an ambulance or the police or fire brigade?
thanks in advance,
p.s if you had an accident in India would you still get medical treatment? Even if you were a stranger? Is it like the UK in that you get free medical care or is it like the States where you have to pay for everything?
I assume that you would have to pay for medical treatment in India but would travel insurance cover that?
