First rule. Nothing is free in insurance. Most of your .premiums goes to high distribution costs. That said, break your policy into 2. You don’t save money by buying one single all-in-one policy.
A whole life policy with total and permanent disability cover plus critical illness. . This one will be kept in force when you go back to your country so long you pay your premiums. Never get conned by agents who ask you to take up any investment policies, they play into your greed and you end up with very little cover.
If your company is not paying your hospital bills, then you need hospitalisation cover. These are renewed every year. You stop when you leave the country. Forget about the flying coffin business. Your body needs to be embalmed and you pay undertable money until you get buried. Better opt for cremation in Singapore.
That said, you can’t go wrong with NTUC. Go for the living assurance policy.
You will notice that I avoid talking to you about cash-back. its all bullshit. High cashbacks = low cover. Your family needs as much as $600K cover. Many people don’t die from accidents. They die after prolonged and expensive stay in the hospital.
So ask for the highest cover for what you can afford easily. Be it $100 per month. You can always buy a new one later.
